Victorville Moves Forward with Plans for New Police Station and Civic Plaza

Oct 9, 2025 | News

Victorville is moving forward with plans for its new police station and civic plaza, marking a major investment in public safety and community engagement.

Deputy City Manager Tony Camargo shared updates on the project during this month’s “What’s the Tea VV” city podcast alongside Public Information Officer Sue Jones. The new facilities will be constructed parallel to the Victorville Courthouse, near Seneca and Amargosa roads, on a 9.18-acre site.

The project includes a 43,000-square-foot police station, nearly three times the size of the current 15,000-square-foot facility. Since the existing Victorville Police Department was built in 2001 with 50 sworn deputies, the department has more than doubled to 103 deputies, creating an urgent need for a larger, modernized space. Camargo explained that while the current station has been remodeled multiple times, the new facility will finally provide the room the department needs.

The planned police station will feature advanced operational spaces, expanded evidence storage, updated gym and locker rooms, and enhanced parking. A Real Time Crime Center will also be included, relaying live footage from technologies like ShotSpotters and Drone First Responders to improve response times and situational awareness.

The adjacent civic plaza, spanning just over three acres, will be a hub for community activity. Features will include an elevated stage, walking loop, splash pads, four pickleball courts, a heritage monument walk, and expansive grass seating.

With construction underway, Victorville is preparing a state-of-the-art law enforcement facility and vibrant civic space that will serve the community for decades to come.
