High Desert Students Earn Recognition Through Mock Trial Academy

Jun 17, 2026 | Schools & Sports

A group of High Desert students recently had the opportunity to step inside a real courtroom and experience the legal system firsthand during the Millionaire Mind Kids (MMK) Law and Justice Academy Mock Trial held at the Victorville Superior Court.

The event brought together students interested in learning more about careers in law, government, and public service. Participants took part in a mock trial experience that introduced them to courtroom procedures, legal arguments, and the roles played by judges, attorneys, and other members of the justice system.

Joining the academy was Community Liaison Paul Marsh, along with Presiding Judge Rasheed Alexander, who helped support the educational program and encouraged students as they explored the legal profession.

Upon completing the academy, each student received a certificate of recognition acknowledging their participation and commitment to learning about the judicial process.

Programs like the Law and Justice Academy provide valuable real-world experiences that help students connect classroom learning with potential career paths. By engaging directly with legal professionals and observing the workings of the court system, participants gain a deeper understanding of civic responsibility, leadership, and the importance of the rule of law.

Congratulations to all of the students who completed the academy and took advantage of this unique opportunity to learn, grow, and explore future career possibilities. Events like these continue to demonstrate the impact of community partnerships in preparing the next generation of leaders throughout the High Desert.
