November is filled with events across the High Desert celebrating those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.
On Nov. 7, Victor Valley College’s Veterans Resource Center will host its 10th annual Veterans Day event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the campus Educational Event Center, offering resources and community support for veterans and families.
The weekend continues Nov. 8 with the Veterans Appreciation BBQ and Car Show at the Singh Center for the Arts in Apple Valley, where veterans receive a free lunch and guests can enjoy live music, vendors, and classic cars.
Veterans Day, Nov. 11, features two major celebrations: Victorville’s 29th annual parade and ceremony in Old Town starting at 9 a.m., and Hesperia’s Veterans Day Ceremony at 11 a.m. at Hesperia Lake Park. Wrightwood will also be hosting its annual Veterans Day Ceremony at the Wrightwood Veterans Memorial at 11 a.m.
Later in the month, veterans can join the Hi-Desert Fly Fishing Club for a fishing and barbecue event at Jess Ranch Lakes or attend Barstow Community College’s Ruck-n-Roll Fun Run and Concert on Nov. 14.
Throughout November, the High Desert unites in gratitude—offering meals, music, and community gatherings to honor local heroes.
