The Snowline Joint Unified School District recently reached a proud milestone, celebrating its largest group of students ever to achieve English proficiency.
More than 150 students spanning kindergarten through 12th grade were recognized during a special Reclassification Ceremony at Serrano High School’s Performing Arts Center.
To be reclassified, students demonstrated advanced English language skills through top scores on the ELPAC exam and consistent academic achievement across subjects.
This accomplishment highlights Snowline’s growing commitment to multilingual education and the remarkable progress of students from diverse linguistic backgrounds. While many come from Spanish-speaking homes, the district also supports learners who speak Russian, French, Korean, Tagalog, Chinese, Arabic, Urdu, and Japanese—illustrating the global reach within the local community.
Snowline officials celebrated the honorees and their families for their hard work, perseverance, and the cultural richness they bring to the district’s schools and the broader High Desert region.
