Music Meets Art at Upcoming Barnes & Noble Victorville Event

Aug 26, 2026 | Community Life

Author and photographer Chris Cassone will visit Barnes & Noble Victorville on August 29 for a book signing featuring guitar effects pedal artwork, free tip sheets, and resources for musicians.

Guitar players, musicians, artists, and music fans will have an opportunity to explore an often-overlooked side of music culture during a special event at Barnes & Noble Victorville this weekend.

Author and photographer Chris Cassone will appear at the bookstore on Saturday, August 29, from 1 to 4 p.m. to sign copies of his new book, Art of the STOMPBOX: Celebrating the Visual Artistry of Guitar Effects Pedals.

The event will take place at Barnes & Noble inside the Mall of the Victor Valley, located at 14400 Bear Valley Road in Victorville.

Discovering the Art Beneath a Guitarist's Feet

Effects pedals may be designed to shape the sound of a guitar, but Cassone’s book focuses on another side of these familiar pieces of musical equipment: their artwork.

Art of the STOMPBOX showcases hundreds of guitar effects pedals while highlighting the artists and designers responsible for their distinctive appearances. From colorful illustrations to creative graphics and unusual designs, the book presents the small metal enclosures as miniature works of art in their own right.

The result brings together music, photography, graphic design, and guitar culture while drawing attention to something concertgoers may hear all the time but rarely get the chance to examine up close.

Free Pedal Resources Available

In addition to signing books, Cassone will distribute a limited supply of free, full-color Pedal Tip Sheets during the Victorville event.

Printed on heavy card stock and designed for guitar players, the two-sided guides include practical information about using effects pedals along with a visual guide to pedalboard signal chains.

The tip sheets will be available at no cost, and a book purchase is not required to receive one while supplies last.

For musicians who are just beginning to experiment with effects—or experienced players interested in refining their pedalboards—the event offers an opportunity to pick up useful information while connecting with someone who has documented the artistry behind the equipment.

An Event for Musicians and Art Fans of All Ages

The signing is open to guitarists, students, musicians, pedal enthusiasts, artists, and anyone interested in learning more about the intersection of music and visual design. Both younger and older visitors are welcome to stop by during the three-hour event.

Chris Cassone Book Signing will take place Saturday, August 29, from 1–4 p.m. at Barnes & Noble Victorville, 14400 Bear Valley Road, inside the Mall of the Victor Valley.
