Residents interested in learning more about how Victorville operates will soon have the opportunity to go behind the scenes through the City’s new Victorville 101 Bus Tour experience.
The guided program was created to give community members a closer look at major city projects, future development plans, and the day-to-day services that help keep Victorville running. Unlike traditional citizen academies that can take several weeks to complete, Victorville 101 condenses the experience into a single four-hour tour.
Participants will receive guided visits to several important city locations and initiatives, including the Southern California Logistics Airport and the city’s Wellness Center. The tour will also provide information on future projects and long-term planning efforts, including plans for a new police station, a new city library, and revitalization efforts in Old Town through the Community Revitalization Investment Authority.
In addition to project updates, residents will gain insight into how the city budget functions and how essential municipal services are funded and managed.
Several tour sessions are scheduled throughout the summer, taking place on June 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. & 12:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m., June 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. & 12:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m., and August 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
All tours begin at the Victorville City Hall Council Chambers, located at 14343 Civic Drive, and are open to adults ages 18 and older. Registration is $10 per participant.
City officials say the program was designed to help residents better understand local government operations while highlighting the strategic initiatives shaping Victorville’s future growth and development.
The Victorville 101 Bus Tour offers a fast-paced, informative look at the city’s priorities and provides residents with an opportunity to connect more directly with the community they call home.
