VICTORVILLE, Calif. — Community leaders, residents, and business partners gathered on Wednesday, March 4, as the City of Victorville delivered its 2026 State of the City address, sharing updates on economic growth, infrastructure improvements, and community initiatives shaping the city’s future.
The presentation featured remarks from Mayor Elizabeth Becerra, Mayor Pro Tem Bob Harriman, and Council Members Tiffany Guadin, Leslie Irving, and Corrine Mora, who outlined key accomplishments from the past year and discussed priorities moving forward. Together, the council highlighted the city’s continued commitment to responsible leadership, economic opportunity, and improving quality of life for residents.
One major area of focus was infrastructure and public safety. Officials noted that Measure P has played an important role in strengthening the city’s infrastructure while also expanding funding for emergency and medical services. These investments are designed to support Victorville’s growing population and ensure essential services remain strong as the city continues to develop.
Economic development also remained a central theme of the presentation. According to city leaders, 373 new businesses opened in Victorville during 2025, reflecting continued investment and business confidence in the community. The city continues to work toward attracting new industries while supporting local entrepreneurs and expanding commercial activity throughout the region.
City officials also shared encouraging progress in addressing homelessness. In 2025, homelessness in Victorville declined by 27 percent, reaching the lowest level in five years. Leaders pointed to the success of programs like the Victorville Wellness Center, which provides support services and resources to individuals experiencing homelessness. Over the past two years, the center has helped more than 200 individuals graduate from its programs, offering pathways toward stability and long-term independence.
The presentation also highlighted recent community improvements, including the opening of the new Victorville City Library on Green Tree Boulevard, which provides expanded space for education, technology access, and community programming.
As the event concluded, city leaders emphasized that Victorville’s continued progress is the result of strong partnerships between local government, businesses, and residents. Looking ahead, officials say the city will remain focused on economic growth, infrastructure investment, and community services that support long-term success for the Victor Valley.
